Universal Remote Control, Inc. Announces Four New Hires

The Pioneer in Control Technology continues to grow and look forward, even in today’s difficult economic climate.

Harrison, NY – April 8, 2009 – Universal Remote Control®, Inc. (URC), the pioneer in control technology, today announced that it has hired two new regional sales managers, an online training manager and a warehouse superintendent. In an economic climate in which contraction has become distressingly normal, URC continues to grow and invest in its people, products and processes.

“We’re not immune to the global recession, but by no means are we surrendering to it,” said Doug Cole, URC’s senior vice president and general manager. “With the hiring of these four talented people, URC is sending this message to our dealers, our partners and the marketplace at large: We are strong, we are looking forward, we are still growing, and we will remain aggressive, even in a down market.”

The two new regional sales managers are Scott Srolis, eastern regional sales manager, and Gary S. Post, central regional sales manager. Srolis and Post join Marguerita Kiser, URC’s western regional sales manager, and Hank Eisengrein, who was recently promoted to the newly created position of national sales training manager. All report to URC Vice President of Sales Lars Granoe.

Srolis began his consumer electronics career 22 years ago in the Philadelphia market as a salesman for Bryn Mawr Stereo and Video. He later served 11 years with Tweeter Home Entertainment Group, first as a store manager and subsequently as director of field operations for Tweeter’s 130-plus storefronts. A father of two sons, Srolis is an avid music and sports fan.
Post, a 23-year veteran of the CE industry, most recently served as director of sales for Klipsch Group’s Jamo and Energy brands. He previously served as vice president of sales USA for Audio Products International, where he was responsible for Mirage, Energy and Athena speakers. Based in northern Ohio, Post is married with two children.

John Martin, URC’s new online training manager, was educated as an audio engineer, but later became a technician and editor for Virtual Media Communications in New York, where he plied his trade for companies like HBO, MTV, Lifetime and Sony Music. Martin later joined Key Digital Systems as its technical support and national training manager, where he also performed system designs, repairs, new product testing and soldering of motherboards and cables.

Stanislaus (Stan) Lewis joins URC as warehouse superintendent. A New York native with 13 years of experience in operations management, Lewis will be in charge of URC’s Valhalla, N.Y., warehouse facilities. Lewis, who earned his MBA from Pace University, has undertaken several expansion projects relating to warehousing and delivery operations. Married with three sons, he enjoys biking and soccer.
