URC Hires National Sales Manager for Its Commercial Division

Industry veteran Jamie Finnegan brings extensive experience as both a dealer and a manufacturer sales rep.

Harrison, NY – June 3, 2010 – URC, The Pioneer in Control Technology, announced today that Jamie Finnegan has joined the company as national sales manager for its growing commercial division. He will report directly to URC Senior Vice President and General Manager Doug Cole.

URC also announced today that Robert Durbin, previously URC’s Western technical training manager, has been promoted to a new role as systems integration engineer for URC’s commercial division, where he will work closely with Finnegan.

Finnegan comes to URC with extensive experience both as an integrator and on the manufacturing side. He entered the industry in a sales role in 1986. From 1993 to 2006, Finnegan owned a well-established integration firm that generated approximately $3 million in annual revenues from both commercial and residential installations. In 2006, Finnegan joined AMX as a direct factory sales rep for its Central region and, after that successful stint, was promoted to regional sales manager for AMX’s Northeast region in 2009.

“Jamie brings to URC a wealth of experience on both the dealer and manufacturing sides,” said Cole. “His knowledge, talent and expertise will dramatically enhance URC’s relationship-building efforts and value proposition in the commercial integration market.”

“I owe my success on the manufacturing side to my success as a dealer,” said Finnegan. “I truly understand the difficulties and struggles dealers experience on a daily basis. I’ll bring a dealer advocacy approach to my job that wouldn’t exist if I spent my whole career as a factory guy. I’ve been in the trenches, and I’ve earned my stripes. I’ll be a very supportive listener for dealers, and drive that through on the manufacturing side so we can deliver the products, service and support they need.”

Emblematic of its commitment to the pro-AV industry, URC will be on hand at InfoComm 2010 next week in booth C5586 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, where it will show its Network Keypad Solution and other products.

“URC has a distinct advantage in the commercial space because of our 2-way control and our customization-to-cost quotient,” said Finnegan. “While expectations for what people can do with user interfaces are at an all-time high, the price they’re willing to pay for those interfaces is at an all-time low. URC delivers cost-effective products that are fully customizable, all on a robust control platform. Add our superior reliability and dealer support to the equation, and it’s no surprise that URC enjoys fierce brand loyalty.”
