Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS) Inaugurates John S. Davis Memorial Award

New Annual Prize Honors the Distinguished Work of Former Universal
Remote Control President in Support of CAPS’ Goals and Activities

HARRISON, NY, July 17, 2006 — Universal Remote Control, Inc. (URC), the leader in control system design and manufacturing for home and professional entertainment systems, has announced that the Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS) will inaugurate the John S. Davis Memorial Award at the organization’s 8th Annual CAPS Golf Outing in honor of the former President of URC, who passed away on July 28, 2005.

Mr. Davis was a long-time supporter of CAPS and the efforts of its volunteers who are working to keep every child safe from harm. The award will be presented by CAPS each year at the golf outing Davis founded. It will go to an individual or organization that demonstrates Davis level of commitment, through word or deed, to improving the lives of children.

Founded in l982, CAPS is Long Island’s leading organization dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect. The Annual Golf Outing will be held this year on Aug. 7 at the Tam O’Shanter Club in Brookville, Long Island. For more information about CAPS, visit
