Introduction
Why use a remote to control your lighting? Convenience, security and energy efficiency. Why, then, do some people NOT have lighting control installed?
They think it’s expensive. It’s not. You can get started with a single in-wall dimmer or plug-in lamp dimmer and control it with the same URC RF remote that you use to change channels. More dimmers can be added later, and they’ll operate the same way.
They think it requires a ugly black box or other unsightly interface. Nope. URC remotes control URC dimmers and switches directly without any additional interface of any kind.
They don’t realize the energy (and money) they’ll save. Dimming a light 25% equates to a 20% savings in energy and typically increases bulb life by a factor of six.
They like being left in the dark. Your custom installation company can program your home theater system to include a Lighting Control button on the remote. You can raise of lower the lights from the comfort of your easy chair. You can even control lights in other rooms—like be basement or porch—securely and conveniently simply by pressing one button.
It’s better than simply leaving a light on for you; it’s another way URC helps you control the experience.
