15) WHERE CAN I FIND THE MANUAL FOR THIS REMOTE?

1) WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO PROGRAM MY URC 100?

There are three ways to program your remote: A) The Pre-Programmed Code Method (page 5 in manual) B) The Auto-Search Method (page 7 in manual) C) The Learning Method (page 8 in manual)

2) I FOUND A CODE THAT WILL POWER MY DEVICE OFF BUT DO NOTHING ELSE, WHAT DO I DO?

Try the rest of the codes listed for that device. Find the code that gives you the most functionality and then try using the Learning method to fill in the gaps.

3) VOLUME DOESN'T WORK FOR MY TV, AUD, ETC

Remote may be in "Volume Punch-through." To reset a Punch Through, press and hold the device button that is missing volume and the mute button simultaneously until the screen displays SET. Then select the shift button and the screen will display PUNCH. Next press the volume up button, and the screen will display VOL. Now you will re-select the device where your volume is missing and that device will flash indicating that the punch is reset to normal.

4) THE POWER BUTTON DOESN'T WORK IN TV, VCR, ETC

POWER may have been used as a MACRO. To return the POWER button to its original setting, you must erase the MACRO. Press and hold the DEVICE BUTTON containing the macro and MUTE simultaneously until the screen reads SET. Then select the POWER ON or POWER OFF button that contains the macro. The screen will flash CLEAR and the macro will be erased. You must hit the LIGHT button to save these changes.

5) WHICH BUTTONS CAN BE PROGRAMMED TO BE MACROS?

The URC 100 has 24 potential macro buttons. These include each DEVICE button and each power on or power off button inside of each device.

6) I PROGRAMMED A DEVICE BUTTON AS A MACRO, NOW I CAN’T ENTER THAT DEVICE, HOW DO I ACCESS THOSE DEVICES’ COMMANDS?

You must first erase the macro. Then, if you desire a DEVICE button to execute a macro, it is a good idea to employ a press and hold style macro on that DEVICE button. This is achieved by first entering a delay as the first step of the macro. The delay time you enter, will determine how long you need to hold the DEVICE button down in order to send the macro command. This way, a normal press of the DEVICE button will simply switch devices without executing the macro.

7) I FOUND A CODE THAT CONTROLS MY AUDIO DEVICE, HOW DO I ACCESS THE DEVICES’ INPUT COMMANDS?

You need to use the shift key in conjunction with the device buttons to properly control your inputs. For example, if you wish to switch your receivers inputs to DVD, you must make sure that, from the audio menu, you hit the shift key first and then the DVD device button.

8) HOW CAN I CHANGE A PREPROGRAMMED BUTTON COMMAND TO DO SOMETHING ELSE?

You will need to follow the LEARNING method outlined in the instruction manual. You will teach over the respective button from your original remote control.

9) WHERE CAN I LEARN MY AUDIO DEVICES’ INPUT COMMANDS?

You can learn the input commands to the individual DEVICE buttons inside of the AUDIO device. In order to achieve this you must press and hold AUDIO and SELECT until you see LEARN. Next hit the SHIFT key and LEARN will blink. Now choose the DEVICE button you would like to learn to and when it reads GOOD, hit the light button to SAVE. All device buttons can be taught commands inside of the AUDIO device only.

10) HOW DO I RESTORE MY REMOTE BACK TO THE FACTORY SETTINGS?

Press and hold POWER OFF and the STOP button for ten seconds. Continue to hold both buttons until the display finishes flashing ERASE nine times, and then RESET.

11) SINCE THE REMOTE OPERATES RF, CAN I CONTROL OTHER RF DEVICES LIKE MY SATTELITE BOX?

The URC 100 will communicate using radio frequency with the MRF-100A Expander only. You must have an expander in order to receive the URC 100’s radio signals. Components that operate with “no pointing”, like some satellite boxes, cannot be operated by the URC 100 unless the unit can be configured to receive infrared signals via its internal menus.

12) CAN I DISABLE THE RF FEATURE ON THE REMOTE?

There is no way to disable the RF feature. The remote operates sending IR and RF signals at all times.

13) I HAVE A URC 100 AND MRF 100 SETUP. CAN I ADD ADDITIONAL REMOTE/MRF SETUPS IN MY HOME?

You can use multiple URC 100’s in a home, as long as they are not used with a MRF 100 expander. Once you add a MRF expander for “no pointing” operation, only one URC 100 can be used. The URC 100 and MRF 100 are not designed for multi-zone operation. They are non addressable and are intended for use in homes with one home theatre.

14) MY REMOTE IS ALWAYS ON, CAN IT BE POWERED OFF WHEN I AM NOT USING IT?

Your URC 100 remains powered on for convenience purposes. This will not significantly reduce battery life or damage your remote. In case of battery depletion, the URC 100 will store all of your settings in its non-volatile flash memory. You could remove the batteries for months, replace them at your convenience and the settings will still exist as you programmed them.

15) WHERE CAN I FIND THE MANUAL FOR THIS REMOTE?
