Outstanding Integration

When valued Advanced Custom Integration clients purchased and remodeled this stunning beachfront home in St. Petersburg on Florida’s gulf coast, they called upon URC dealer Brian Sutton to create a spectacular smart home automation and control system for the entire family enjoy. 

The fully-integrated URC Total Control system incorporates whole-house distributed audio and video, a dedicated home theater, spectacular Lutron lighting, networked surveillance cameras, Alexa voice control and much more.

“The owners are music lovers, so high-quality audio is very important to them” said Sutton. “We created a system that is easy to operate from their URC user interfaces, Alexa voice control devices or personal smartphones from anywhere on the property.” 

Advanced Custom Integration designed and installed a fabulous 13-zone distributed audio system with three URC DMS-1200 multi-zone amplifiers, two URC SNP-2 streaming media players and high-performance Episode Signature speakers.

The entire system is operated by a URC Total Control advanced system controller with three TDC-7100 tabletop touchscreen controllers, a TKP-5600 in-wall keypad and six TRC-1080 handheld remote controls – plus the URC mobile app on owners’ smartphones and tablets. The network features a Luxul router and gigabit rack switch plus Ubiquiti access points.

“The homeowners find the touchscreens, remote controls and mobile apps very easy to operate with the personalized Total Control 2.0 onscreen graphics,” said Sutton. “And they absolutely love the convenience of Alexa voice control.”

All of the graphic user interfaces feature custom graphics. Advanced Custom Integration photographed all of the rooms and outdoor areas of the home and used the images to create highly-personalized onscreen backgrounds and menus.

The home boasts nine Sony 55” 4K TVs, a 65” 4K Samsung TV and Epson 4K projector with 110” high-contrast screen in the theater room. A 55” Sunbrite 4K TV brings the entertainment onto the patio to deliver a bright, non-glare TV experience that is built to withstand the Florida weather. 

Adding to the sophistication and versatility of the system, the owners can view live video from networked Hikvision surveillance cameras installed throughout the property from their URC touchscreens, remotes and apps.

For added impact, Advanced Custom Integration installed dramatic RGB lighting on the dock that changes color with the infinity pool – all tied into the Lutron system.

“We wore wet suits and swam out to install the lighting on the dock, extending the brilliant smart lighting system into the ocean,” said Sutton.
